Good Girl Gone Bad.

Gone Home.

Gone Home game was similar to a book I read in elementary school, I don’t recall the name of the books, but they had videos that went with them that was similar to this game. I ended up watching the game due to me being a little too tired to actually play the game. I expected it to be a story behind the game because of the name I just wasn’t sure of what the story line what it would be. I like the story line of how Katie arrived how and noticed no one was home. She didn’t and couldn’t understand why her sister ran away and where her parents where, so she had to take it upon herself and figure it out.

“RIOT GRRRL MANIFESTO”

In the 1990’s a band was created by Washington State band Bikini Kill and Lead singer Kathleen Hanna. This band was created to show women empowerment to show everyone that women are allowed to do whatever they please just like men are. The Riot GRRRL Manifest stated, ” BECAUSE we are angry at a society that tells us Girl = Dumb, Girl = Bad, Girl = Weak.” I 100% support what was being said right here because men and also the government look at women as weak minded and we are not. Us women are stronger than half of these men.

I only use to play video games as a kid, now I play like building games or candy crush when I have the time but typically, I never do.

Research Ideas

A few more things I would like to research on is why do men feel just because a woman is wearing those type of clothes that she wants him to touch on her. I just hate when people try to blame the rape victim especially because of what she got on.

The Main Views: Black Women Feminism

“The Combahee River Collective Statement”:

Summary: This reading talks about Black feminist and all they endured during this time period. The Combahee River Collective is a Black feminist organization built with African American women. This organization was part of doing political work within in their group. Black feminist faced more than just feminism they also faced racism as well will fighting for Women’s Rights. ” Still, hundreds of women have been active at different times during the three-year existence of our group. And every Black woman who came, came out of a strongly felt need for some level of possibility that did not previously exist in her life.”(The Combahee River Collective) This quote stuck out to me because these black feminists needed something they couldn’t get until they joined this group which was hope for a new and better life.

” Age, Race, Class, and Sex: Women Redefining Difference”:

Summary: In Age, Race, Class and Sex, they are talking about how the “different” people have to teach the other people what they know or what they grew to know in these different cultures. This reading basically talks more about the different races and gender sexual preference. Black women and men get shunned upon when they come out as being Lesbian and or Gay. “In certain parts of Africa, small girls are still being sewed shut between their legs to keep them docile and for men’s pleasure.” (Age, Race, Class, and Sex: Women Redefining Difference) This quote is major to me because other cultures and races don’t see how much black women go through and all they have to fight for to at least halfway get the equal rights they deserve.

Connection Between the Two:

Explanation: I picked these two articles because they are the ones who stuck out to me the most. Both of these articles talk about how much black feminist had to go through in order for black women to get treated the same as everyone else. Black women still struggle with equal rights, and they are still fighting for them.

Key Words: Black feminist, Sex and Gender

Question Time:

What do you think we could all do as a whole to change some of the issues that black women are still facing right now?

How do you feel about Black feminist?

Are You a Boy or Girl?

Gender

Keywords: Gender, Sex, Femininity

For decades beyond decades, we have been identified by only boy or girl or female or male. In today’s time gender identify is way beyond male or female. People now have more than just boy or girl or female or male.

Back before my time well really any of our time male and female had set duties and roles. Now that men are able to change them self into a women and women can turn themself into a man the world has become overall crazy.

Valentine stated in her book The Kaleidoscope of Gender that, “We are taught that testosterone, a beard, big muscles, and a penis make a man, while estrogen, breasts, hairless legs, and a vagina make a woman.” (Page 3) In anyone eyes that would make them not want to come out or even change who they feel they are in their heart.

Oct. 1, 2011 – Manhattan, New York, U.S. – Hundreds participate in SlutWalk NYC, rallying in Union Square and marching through the East Village as part of a worldwide grassroots movement challenging rape culture, victim-blaming and slut-shaming, and working to end sexual and domestic violence. Feminism

Keywords: Feminist, Privilege, Race

In the book of Theorizing Difference from Multiracial Feminism by Zinn and Bill, they stated that, “Since the late 1960s, U.S. women of color have taken issue with unitary theories of gender.” (Page 321) I feel that all women of color didn’t have equal rights but honestly anyone of color had less rights than anyone. I just feel women in general didn’t have equal rights which I feel was very unfair.

How are the two readings connected?

Both authors agree that gender roles and feminism are major things that we have dealt with for over decades.

Questions:

What do you feel that the U.S. could’ve did differently about women’s equal rights?
